<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3,2003 <br />7:00 P.M. - ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chair Sand called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Present were Commissioners Clayton Larson, Ken Bezdicek, Elizabeth Modesette, <br />Megan Ricke, Clayton Zimmerman, and Chair David Sand. <br /> <br />Absent: Cathy Smithknecht. <br /> <br />Also present were Mayor Beverly Aplikowski, Council Members Gregg Larson and Lois <br />Rem; City Administrator Michelle Wolfe; Director of Community Services Aaron <br />Parrish; City Planner Peter Hellegers; and Recording Secretary Kathleen Altman. <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM PLANNING. COMMISSION MEETING <br />HELD ON AUGUST 6. 2003. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman moved, seconded by Commissioner Modesette to approve the <br />August 6, 2003 minutes as amended. <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously (6-0). <br /> <br />POOLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />A. PLANNING CASE #03-22 - EARL AND JUDITH NOLTING. 3336 LAKE <br />JOHANNABOULEVARD.V~CE <br /> <br />Chair Sand opened the public hearing at 7:06 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Hellegers stated applicants were requesting a variance of 36.96 feet from the front <br />yard setback and a variance of 5 feet from the current side yard setback for accessory <br />buildings. He indicated the variance would allow the applicant to construct a new two- <br />car garage in approximately the same location as the existing two-car garage. Staff <br />recommended approval based on the following conditions: <br /> <br />I. The applicant shall file all necessary building permits with the Building Official prior <br />to the issuance of a building permit. <br /> <br />2. The applicant shall maintain the existing drainage pattem along Lake Johanna <br />Boulevard so that the construction of the garage and driveway do not have a negative <br />impact on drainage in the area. <br />
