<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION <br />November 17,2003 <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />4.A OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE: 2004 Celebratin!! Arden Hills <br />Event <br /> <br />Mr. Moore asked for direction regarding the food provider(s) for the 2004 <br />Celebrating Arden Hills event. He mentioned that staff had already met several <br />times to discuss its work detail for the event. <br /> <br />The Council directed staff to proceed with the same food vendors as they did for <br />the 2003 event. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore asked for Council's reaction to a vendor serving alcoholic beverages at <br />the event, located in the lower-level parking lot, in its own separate tent. He noted <br />that the vendor would assume complete responsibility for all aspects of the <br />proposal. <br /> <br />Council agreed that the event is more family oriented and not have beer/wine at the <br />2004 event, but would like to revisit the proposal in years to come. <br /> <br />. 5.A Council/Staff Retreat dates set for Januarv 24 and 25, 2004. <br /> <br />5.B Finance Director second interviews of the three finalists will occur <br />December 3. 2003 with Council member Grant and Council member Holden <br />servin!! on the interview panel with Councilmember Rem servin!! as alternate. <br /> <br />5.C ADMINISTRATION: Civil En!!ineer Position <br />Ms. Wolfe asked for direction from Council if staff should proceed with the <br />recruitment of a staff Civil Engineer in 2004. It was the consensus of the Council <br />to continue evaluating the possibility and bring this item back for additional <br />discussion. <br /> <br />5.D Street Si!!ns <br />The Council discussed adding numbers to the proposed street signs scheduled to be <br />installed in 2004. Staff will proceed with further research and report to Council in <br />2004. <br /> <br />5.E Police Protection Contract for 2004 <br />The Council reviewed the Ramsey County proposal for police services for Arden <br />Hills in 2004. Topics Council discussed were the addition of another patrol officer <br /> <br />. <br />
