Council and Administration <br /> <br />(A) Endeavor to secure a full and complete understanding of the City's needs <br />and desires for Economic Development activities. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(B) Assist with the development of a business retention and attraction prograrn, <br />i,e, a marketing plan. <br /> <br />(C) Assure the integration of the City's economic development efforts with its <br />land use planning efforts, This means that business attraction is not an end <br />to itself, but is an element of community development. <br /> <br />(D) Assist in the identification of commerciaVindustrial rehabilitation areas, and <br />in working with the affected businesses to sell the effort, <br /> <br />(E) Assist in business promotion and recognition events, such as the Metro <br />East Development Fair or a Business Appreciation Night. <br /> <br />(F) Interact with the Chamber of Commerce as a means of improving <br />communications and responsiveness and avoiding duplication, <br /> <br />(G) Create a focal point for the economic development efforts of the City, <br /> <br />(H) Participate in the policy making process as requested by the City Council. <br />This may involve occasional joint meetings with the Planning Commission <br />and/or City Council. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(I) Perform other duties and functions as specifically delegated by City <br />Council. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Section 307.
