Council and Administration <br /> <br />307 Economic Development Commission <br /> <br />307.010 <br /> <br />Establishment of Commission, An Economic Development Commission is <br />hereby established to adyise the City Council on Economic Development and <br />to create a focal point for the economic development of the City, <br /> <br />307.020 <br /> <br />Comoosition. The Economic Development Commission shall consist of seven <br />(7) to nine (9) members appointed by the City Council. Membership shall be <br />open to any resident or non-resident business owner that is interested in the <br />business climate and economic development direction of the City, Any <br />member of the commission may be removed by a majority vote of City <br />Council. <br /> <br />307.030 Terms and Compensation. Appointment to the Economic Development <br />Commission shall be made at the first regular January meeting of the City <br />Council, or rnore often if required, Members shall be appointed for two (2) <br />year terms beginning Febmary 1st and ending January 31st of the second year <br />following, Initial appointments shall be as follows: three (3) members shall be <br />appointed for the term of one (I) year; four (4) members for two (2) years, <br />Members appointed after the initial Commission shall be appointed for a two- <br />year term, Members of the Advisory Commission may receive compensation <br />as the City Council shall provide by resolution. <br /> <br />307.040 Vacancies, In case ofa vacancy during the term of office of any mernber of <br />the Commission, the City Council shall appoint a new member to serve the <br />remainder of the term. A vacancy shall exist if any of the following occur: <br />death, disability, failure to serve, or resignation. <br /> <br />307.050 Orl!anization, The Commission shall annually elect one member to serve as <br />Chair. The Chair is responsible for the agenda of meetings, presiding at <br />meetings, minutes of meetings, and reports and recommendations to the City <br />Council. The Community Development Department shall maintain all records <br />of the Commission, An Executive Committee may be formed and undertake <br />duties assigned to it by the Commission, <br /> <br />307.060 Meetinl!s and Reoorts, The Commission shall hold meetings as needed, It <br />shall keep rninutes which shall be reduced to writing and a copy forwarded to <br />the City Council.
