GENERALLY <br /> <br />Sec. 2-356. Boards, committees, commissions and task forces. <br /> <br />(a) The city council may, by resolution or ordinance, create from time to time such boards, committees, <br />'or task forces as it deems to be necessary for the proper management and operation of the city, and by <br />resolution appoint individual members to serve on the same, <br /> <br />,(b) The city council shall prescribe the rules, regulations, procedures and duties of the boards, <br />committees, commissions and task forces that it appoints in the resolution or ordinance creating them, <br /> <br />(c) The boards, committees, commissions or task forces appointed by the city council may exercise all <br />,duties that the cily council has legally assigned to them. They can have the authority to conduct <br />investigations and to make recommendations, They may not, however, make decisions on behalf of the <br />city council. <br /> <br />,(d) The city council may from time to time appoint individuals to represent the city on boards, <br />committees, commissions or task forces to which the city belongs, <br /> <br />,(e) Absences from one-third (1/3) of the duly called meetings of the board, committee, commission or <br />task force shall constitute the automatic resignation of the appointed member. <br /> <br />(Ord. Created. <br /> <br />There is created an economic development commission, <br /> <br />(Code 1985, 9228,01; Ord, No, 1642,91642.01,1-10-96) <br /> <br />Sec. 2-367. Membership. <br /> <br />'(a) The economic development commission shall be composed of seven (7) members. <br /> <br />(b) Members of the commission shall be appointed for three-year staggered terms except that any <br />person appointed to fill a vacancy occurring prior 10 the expiration of the term for which the predecessor <br />had been appointed shall be appointed only for the remainder of such term, Upon the expiration of their <br />term of office the member shall consider [continue] to serve until his successor is appointed, <br />
