<br />., <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />9/30/03 <br /> <br />Summary of Discussions with Arden Hills joining the <br />Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce <br /> <br />During a meeting with officials of the City of Arden Hills, many issues can be discussed <br />regarding the community joining the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce. This is a <br />summary of some of those items, <br /> <br />Benefits of Joininq <br /> <br /> .:. <br /> .:. <br /> .:. <br /> .:. <br /> ..:. <br /> .:+ <br /> .:. <br /> .:. <br /> .:. <br /> .:. <br /> .:. <br />. .:. <br /> <br />Increased member services and resources that comes with being a member city. <br />Greater responsiveness to the needs of the community and its businesses. <br />Ability to provide full-time service to the Arden Hills members. <br />More efficient overall operations without having to create a new chamber. <br />Increased membership participation and greater volunteer involvement for events. <br />Greater networking opportunities for members in both Ramsey and Anoka counties. <br />Greater legislative clout regarding transportation and other issues. <br />Greater recognition for our communities and greater expertise in the north Metro, <br />Ability to have a combined voice, yet still respect each city's individuality, <br />Chamber's ability to provide grants to local non-profits, including schools. <br />Growing organization with over 425 members and a diversified membership. <br />Partnerships with other chambers and the Minnesota Chamber. <br /> <br />Issues with Joininq <br /> <br />.:. Member Interests - The Twin Cities North Chamber's first priority will be to take <br />care of the needs of.1!!! members. <br />.:. Chamber Name - With the merger with New Brighton & Mounds View, the name of <br />the Chamber was changed in 2002 to Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce, a <br />name that serves Arden Hills well and can be identified with by local businesses. <br />.:. Board of Directors Representation - We will increase our Board of Directors from 21 <br />to 25 members. Every community will be represented equally. <br />.:. Local Identity - The local identity will remain intact, in fact we will increase that <br />identity through our programming. The Chamber is committed to consulting closely <br />with the City of Arden Hills regarding TCMP and other important issues, <br />.:. Dues Structure - Dues structures are appropriate for businesses of all sizes and are <br />competitive with St. Paul and other metro chambers. <br />.:. Bylaws - The TCN Chamber Board is willing to review and revise the Bylaws to <br />accommodate the City of Arden Hills. <br />.:. Chamber Staffing - The Chamber will review staffing needs as required. Its offices <br />are located in the City of Fridley north of Interstate 694 and east of Hwy 65, <br />.:. Timing - By joining in the Fall of 2003, the City of Arden Hills and its businesses <br />. could be included in the 2004 Membership Directory that comes out in January. <br />
