Highway 96 / Highway 10 Exhibit <br /> <br />Overview <br /> <br />Several transportation issues have been brought forth in the past few months. Some of the <br />specific issues are outlined below, <br /> <br />Hamline Avenue <br /> <br />A number of concerns regarding Hamline Avenue have been brought forth recently at the <br />neighborhood meetings and during Public lnquiries at regularly scheduled Council Meetings, <br />Most of the concern pertains to local access to Hamline Avenue during the AM peak hour. In <br />addition, residents have expressed concern with issues related to pedestrian safety and <br />trail/sidewalk functionality. Based on these concerns, staff has researched and/or identified the <br />following potential solutions: <br /> <br />>- Install a traffic light to enhance local access - One option to enhance local access to <br />Hamline Avenue would be to install a traffic light. Unfortunately, placing a traffic light <br />on Hamline Avenue is complicated by the fact that no existing streets line up. As a <br />result, any new light would result in a three legged intersection. However, staff and the <br />City Engineer have identified one option that might be feasible. <br /> <br />The potential option is outlined in Enclosure 1: Hamline Avenue Signal Exhibit. This <br />proposal would contemplate relocating the Arden View Drive / Arden View Court access <br />
