<br />. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE JURISDICTIONS <br />THAT CONTRACT WITH RAMSEY COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT <br />FOR POLICE SERVICES <br />DECEMBER 18, 2003 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:03 a.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: <br />> George Altendorfer, Ramsey County Sheriff's Department <br />> Bob Fletcher, Ramsey County Sheriff <br />> Joel Hanson, City of Little Canada <br />> John Luey, Ramsey County Sheriff's Department <br />> Jim March, City of North Oaks <br />> Joe Paget, Ramsey County Sheriff's Department <br />> Jan Reagan, White Bear Township <br />> Mike Salter, Ramsey County Sheriff's Department <br />> Terry Schwerm, City of Shoreview <br />> Bill Short, White Bear Township <br />> Gerry Urban, City of Vadnais Heights <br />> Tom Watson, City of North Oaks <br />> Michelle Wolfe, City of Arden Hills <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved without change. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The Minutes of November 20, 2003, were approved as written, <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS POLICE SERVICE <br /> <br />Altendorfer reported that he will be meeting with the City of Arden Hills Council <br />Members on January 20, 2004, at 4:45 p,m., to discuss police service through <br />the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department. It was the Group's consensus to <br />prepare correspondence and to have representation at this meeting. <br /> <br />Watson reported that he met with the Arden Hills' Mayor and Administrator and <br />noted that the mayor is a property owner and has a business relationship with the <br />City of New Brighton; however, she has stated that this will not be a factor in her <br />decision on police service, Watson stated that he advised the mayor to <br />consider the impact to the other contract communities and the consequences <br />that result when a community leaves the Contract Group, He explained that he <br />feels that Ramsey County taxpayers will be left with additional taxes associated <br />with the County's cost (i.e., the overhead costs will get transferred to the County <br />because there is less revenue coming in). <br />
