<br />Minutes <br />Sheriff Contract Group Meeting <br />December 18, 2003 <br /> <br />Department's hiring of correctional officers, instead of licensed deputies, to work . <br />in the jail, will tend to lower the cost of law enforcement services for the Contract <br />Group since deputies with less experience will be able to work in the patrol <br />division. He explained that in 2005, it is planned to cost out a ten-year deputy, <br />versus the fifteen-year deputy that they are using now, which he stated will <br />reduce the Group's cost and still provide stability, <br /> <br />The Contract Group members stated their satisfaction and appreciation for <br />Sheriff Fletcher and for Undersheriffs Altendorfer and Luey, and asked Sheriff <br />Fletcher to keep them working with the Contract Group, They also expressed <br />appreciation for the regular meeting attendance of Salter and Paget, the <br />accessibility and responsiveness of all those assigned to the Group, their <br />leadership, their cooperation and their good will; and that they very much <br />appreciate the deputies who stop by the cityltownship offices, and for the daily <br />reports provided by Jim Moody. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:07 a.m. <br /> <br />The next regular meeting will be held on .JANUARY 22. 2004. at 8:00 <br />A.M.. at the CITY OF SHOREVIEW CONFERENCE ROOM. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />Jan Reagan <br />Recording Secretary <br />JARI <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />4 <br />
