<br />Minutes <br />Sheriff Contract Group Meeting <br />December 18, 2003 <br /> <br />. 800 MHZ - UPDATE <br /> <br />Sheriff Fletcher recommended that the Group assign a representative to closely <br />track the 800 MHZ effort, explaining SI. Paul's desire for communication center <br />consolidation. He voiced concern with regard to the dispatch service level <br />delivered in St. Paul, versus the Contract Communities; stating a need for a <br />professional analysis of the proposed consolidation, and also for a staff analysis <br />for the appropriate level of calls per dispatcher. He stated that he did not think it <br />was a good idea to have only one communication center in this age of terrorism. <br />He noted that there has been no request or suggestions for consolidation from <br />the Federal Government. <br /> <br />LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT - Watson Update <br /> <br />Watson reported that there is no new information on this issue. He felt that the <br />Group should know the financial consequence if a community drops out of the <br />Contract Group, <br /> <br />It was decided that this matter will be discussed during the 2004 Goals Setting <br />Meeting. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />OWl FORFEITURES <br /> <br />Hanson stated that there was nothing new to report on OWl forfeitures, <br /> <br />LONG RANGE PLANNING METING <br /> <br />It was the Group's consensus to schedule a Long Range Planning Meeting in the <br />spring. <br /> <br />CHAIR ROTATION /2004 MEETING LOCATION <br /> <br />The Group reviewed Reagan's report, which confirmed the Standard Officer <br />Rotation as follows: 2003 - White Bear Township (Chair); Shoreview (Vice- <br />Chair); Vadnais Heights (Secretary); 2004 - Shoreview (Chair); Vadnais Heights <br />(Vice-Chair); North Oaks (Secretary); 2005 - Vadnais Heights (Chair); North <br />Oaks (Vice-Chair); Little Canada (Secretary); 2006 - North Oaks (Chair); Little <br />Canada (Vice-Chair); Arden Hills (Secretary); 2007 - Little Canada (Chair); <br />Arden Hills (Vice Chair); Gem Lake (Secretary); 2008 - Arden Hills (Chair); <br />Gem Lake (Vice-Chair); White Bear Township (Secretary); 2009 - Gem lake <br />(Chair); White Bear Township (Vice-Chair); Shoreview (Secretary). <br /> <br />SHERIFF FLETCHER <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Sheriff Fletcher reported that it is planned to be moved into the new Arden Hills <br />patrol facility by the end of next year.
