Based on the sign ordinance, the property is in District 6, or those areas on Lexington
Avenue north ofI-694 and property zoned Bl. Aesthetics - Meets Code Requirement

In the Building Design Narrative (pages of 15-17) of the approved Master Plan PUD the
design of Addition J is briefly referenced. Basically, the narrative states that additions to
current buildings, like Addition J, will be used to improve the appearance of the building.
The narrative also states that the palette of materials will be similar to what was used on the
Training Center (Building L) but likely at a lesser extent. Potential materials which are listed
in the narrative include: brick, architectural pre-cast concrete, stone or cast-stone, metal
panel and glass.

The design as currently proposed would have the two levels aligning with the current levels
of Building E. The exterior would incorporate cast-stone, metal panel, and glass; these
materials are consistent with the design narrative of the Master Plan. In addition to the
elevations a colored building rendering has also been included for your review.

6. Height of Buildings - Building meets code requirement (2-foot variance from Master Plan
for Building Height, 5-foot variance from Code and 10-foot variance from Master Plan for East
Stair / Elevator Core) Elevator Core / East Stair does not meet requirement. .

Addition J is proposed to be 32 feet which is within the maximum height permitted in the
I-I Zoning District. Guidant has proposed continuing the current roofline of the building
for the addition. This is a variance of 2 feet from the approved Master Plan; however the
height is within the City's maximum heigbt limit for the district. The east stair I elevator
core is proposed to be a maximum height of 40 feet to allow for a future skyway
connection to Building K. Tbis is a variance of 5 feet from the Code requirements and] 0
feet from the Master Plan.

Proposed Buildings and Building Additions

Proposed
Building/Addition

I-I Criteria
(Max Height)

Master Plan
Height

Master Plan
1'"

Amendment
Height

Elevator
Core!
