<br />Use a trailer sign, newsletter, newspaper of record notice, op-ed pieces, or <br />other City-initiated actions to mark Martin Luther King or Human Rights Day. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mounds View School District: <br /> <br />Encourage the school district to consider joining the East Metro Integration <br />District (Inver Grove Heights, Mahtomedi, North St. Paul-Maplewood- <br />Oakdale, Roseville, St. Paul, South St. Paul, South Washington County, <br />Stillwater, West St. Paul, and White Bear Lake School Districts) the West <br />Metro Education Program (Brooklyn Center, Columbia Heights, Edina, <br />Hopkins, Minneapolis, Richfield, Robbinsdale, St. Anthony/New Brighton, St. <br />Louis Park, and Wayzata School Districts), or the Northwest Suburban <br />Integration School District (Anoka-Hennepin, Brooklyn Center, Buffalo, Elk <br />River, Fridley, Osseo and Rockford School Districts)__ <br /> <br />Encourage the school district to consider using Youth Frontiers, a Minnesota <br />non-profit, to address racism by conducting annual assemblies or retreats at <br />Mounds View and Irondale High Schools. <br /> <br />Encourage the school district to establish it's own, or participate in an <br />existing, Annual Human Rights Art Contest and Human Rights Essay <br />Contest. <br /> <br />Encourage the school district to address racism/diversity on the district <br />website; note meetings, press articles, news releases, etc. that cover recent <br />events; and provide related links. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Encourage the school district to provide diversity training to employees. <br /> <br />Encourage the school district to promote student participation in summer <br />workshops conducted by the Institute for Multicultural Connections for <br />students of color interested in the teaching profession. <br /> <br />. <br />
