<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Prepare correspondence and reports regarding engineering projects and maintain files <br />and records. <br /> <br />Review and revise policies, ordinances, and requirements in order to keep current with <br />industry standards, <br /> <br />Make presentations, attend meetings, and participate on committees as required, <br /> <br />Review and comment on planning and development proposals <br /> <br />Coordinate with external agencies on transportation improvements impacting the City, <br /> <br />Provide technical advice and assistance to City staff, <br /> <br />Keep current on industry standards and practice. <br /> <br />Assume other duties as necessary and required, <br /> <br />QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty <br />satisfactorily, The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, <br />and/or ability required, Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals <br />with disabilities to perform the essential functions, <br /> <br />EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE <br /> <br />Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering or related field, Two (2) years progressively <br />responsible skilled engineering experience, preferably in the public sector and ability to <br />obtain registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Minnesota within six (6) <br />months after hire. <br /> <br />LANGUAGE SKILLS <br /> <br />Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret plans and blueprints, contracts, ordinances, <br />technical journals, financial reports, development agreements, legislation, statutes, and <br />legal documents, Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, <br />department staff, City Council, regulatory agencies, and members of the business <br />community. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with state <br />regulatory agencies, elected officials, City staff and members of the public, Ability to give <br />verbal presentations and speeches, Ability to prepare reports and correspondence. <br />
