<br />City of Arden Hills <br />Job Description <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />POSITION: <br />DEPARTMENT: <br />REPORTS TO: <br /> <br />Assistant to the City Administrator <br />Administration <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br /> <br />Provides assistance to the City Administrator in the overall administration of City <br />services and operations and other Department Directors to assure compliance with the <br />City's policies, goals, and programs. Supervises and directs the activities of office <br />support specialists and customer service representative. Coordinates human <br />resources, technology, and assumes ail statutory duties of City Clerk. <br /> <br />ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS <br /> <br />Assists the City Administrator in managing overall operations. <br /> <br />Assists City Administrator as part of the management team in identification, prioritization . <br />and accomplishment of short and long range goals. <br /> <br />Performs a variety of special assignments and projects for the City Administrator and <br />City Council. <br /> <br />Participates in a wide variety of professional personnel functions such as classification, <br />compensation, employee relations, employee benefits, training, and administration of <br />personnel systems and procedures. Administers human resource functions including <br />employee benefits administration, employee communications, worker's compensation <br />administration, labor negotiations and other human resources duties, as assigned. <br /> <br />Develops, prepares and communicates personnel policies and procedures in written <br />and verbal formats. Takes corrective action to resolve problems. <br /> <br />Coordinates implementation of technology including cable television and MIS. <br /> <br />Responsible for city communications including the website and serving as the staff <br />liaison to the newsletter committee <br /> <br />Coordinates City Council agenda and preparation of City Council agenda packets. <br /> <br />. <br />
