The event is progressing nicely. The day <br />will be scheduled from 3:00 p.m. until dusk. This year's event will look similar to last year's <br />event with a few additions/changes. Tickets to the BBQ dinner will sell at $8.00 for adults and <br />$4.00 for children up until the event. The price will be $10.00 and $5.00 at the event. Tickets <br />are available at City Hall. As always, a ticket is not required for the other events in the park and <br />we will have a couple of food vendors at the event for those who do not choose to buy a ticket <br />for the barbeque dinner. <br /> <br />Headlining this year's entertainment once again will be the White Sidewalls Rock-N-Roll Revue <br />and back by popular demand will be the Prior Lake Water Ski Show and the Shoreview Northem <br />Lights Variety Band! Staff has added a show by the Teddy Bear Band and a presentation by <br />Mad Science! As always, the event will have youth games, caricaturists, face painters, <br />community booths, a rock climbing wall, and FIREWORKS at dusk!!! Staff has added an hour <br />to all of the youth games/activities and they will be available from 3:00-9:00 p.m. Event details <br />are included with this memo. Staff is asking for assistance from the City Council with the <br />following: <br /> <br />Ticket Sales - A crucial part ofthis year's event is the sale of the barbeque dinner tickets. <br />The main focus at this point, needs to be with ticket sales. Staff has given Twin City <br />Catering Co. an estimate of 400 people for the barbecue dinner. Therefore, the City <br />needs to work hard promoting the ticket sales. Our goal is to sell 300 tickets up until a <br />week before the event. Staff could then sell up to 100 tickets the day of the event. This <br />number is adjustable up until one week before the event. This is where staff needs your <br />
