<br />Memo <br />Proposed Copier Purchase <br />2 <br /> <br />than our existing copier, this model also includes three additional features. These features <br />include: An ability to make a book, a folding feature, and the ability to insert a different colored <br />paper as a divider at a predetermined spot in the document. <br /> <br />The quoted price for this copier is $27,157.50. The maintenance fees are $.0055 per image or <br />$165 per month for 30,000 images. Canon bills on the actual number of images, with no <br />established minimum. Total maintenance costs over a 3 year period will be $5,940, assuming at <br />a rate of 30,000 images per month. <br /> <br />Comparing the two proposals, the copier from Canon USA costs $1,619.50 more than the Ikon's <br />proposal. However, the proposal from Canon USA includes additional features, plus the latest <br />model. The maintenance costs are lower with Canon USA by $3,780 over a 3 year period. <br />Overall, the net cost savings, including maintenance, of going with Canon USA is $2,161 over a <br />3 year period. Servicing is done by Canon and they use genuine Canon parts. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION: <br />Staff recommends that the Council authorize the purchase of Canon Image Runner 8070 from <br />Canon USA and return the leased copier. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br />
