<br />URS <br />. <br /> <br />Michelle Wolfe <br />August 2, 2005 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />As is apparent from the above table, the watermain fund would require a budget amendment of <br />approximately $80,000 if the project is awarded as bid. This work could be reduced or eliminated from the <br />contract in order to remain within budget if Council desires (although this would need to occur following <br />award by a deduct change order). Based upon experience throughout the City with poor operation of older <br />valves in the watermain system the City Engineer and City staff recommend that the Council amend the <br />watermain budget to include this work with the contract. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Amt Construction Company, has completed the 2003 and 2004 PMP projects in Arden Hills. Although the <br />Contractor's attention to punchlist work was not as diligent as we would like to see for the 2003 PMP, <br />their performance improved during the execution of the 2004 PMP and we are confident that Amt <br />Construction Company, Inc. is capable of successfully completing the work included with this project. <br /> <br />The City Engineer, therefore, recommends the award of the 2005 Pavement Management Program to Amt <br />Construction Company, Inc. for the total amount of $1,375,247.66.
