ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
JULY 18, 2005

10

.

Mr. Filla asked if Condition 1 would show the details for the final project. Mr. Brown
responded the details would be shown for approval on the final project.

Councilmember Larson stated the developer had volunteered two items that he would like added
to the Conditions. One of the items being that the landscaped areas would be irrigated by the
applicant and the second that gutters would carry stormwater directly to the stornl water system
without drainage over land.

MOTION: Councilmember Larson moved and Councilmember Holden seconded a
motion to add the following Condition 21: The landscaped areas be
irrigated by the applicant and the addition of gutters to carry the stormwater
directly to the storm water system without drainage over land.

Councilmcmber Grant requested one more item be added to the motion: The one- foot of sand
cushion base is added for the sidewalk. Councilmembcr Larson accepted the amendment.

Mr. Filla suggested Condition 21 read: The final plans be revised to illustrate the landscaped area
will be irrigated, that there be downspouts and gutters added to the structures to convey the water
directly to the storm water drainage system, and that they illustrate a one-foot of sand base to the
sidewalk.

.

Mayor Aplikowski requested the one-foot of sand cushion to the sidewalk be added as Condition
22 and be addressed as a separate motion.

The motion carried unanimously (5-0).

MOTION: Mayor Aplikowski moved and Councilmember Grant seconded a motion to
add Condition 22 to read as follows: One-foot sand cushion to the
sidewalk be provided. The motion carried unanimously (5-0).

Mr. Clark asked for clarification with respect to signage. He asked if the motion implied the
removal of the 60-square foot sign by unit 26-30. Mayor Aplikowski noted they had not
addressed that issue.

Councilmember Holden stated seeing as they were not allowing an access onto Hamline A venue,
she did not see the need for a 60-square foot sign by unit 26-30 at this time.

Councilmembcr Grant stated he believed the intent of that sign was to have it visible from
Highway 96.

Councilmcmbcr Larson stated his intent was to limit the signs by the doorways to 2 x 2 foot and
the only other signage then would be the monument sign sitting on Highway 96. Mayor .
Aplikowski noted that was really restrictive.

10
