<br />~SBVfbbE <br /> <br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE JOB DESCRIPTION <br />Job Description Title: Civil Engineer FLSA Status: Exempt / Non Union <br />Department/Division: Public Works Position Status: Regular Full-Time <br />Accouutable To: Assistant Public Works Salary Grade: Exempt Level 2 <br /> Director/ City Engineer <br />Prepared By: Duane Schwartz Revision Date: Aug. 2005 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Job Summary: <br /> <br />To perform complex and complete, professional civil engineering services for the City and its <br />partnership cities including: infrastructure design, construction and maintenance, plan review, and <br />public record keeping of engineering projects. Partnership cities include those where the City has an <br />agreement for provision of engineering services. <br /> <br />Scope of Responsibilitv: <br /> <br />~ Works under the general supervision of the Asst. Public Works Dir. /City Engineer. <br />~ Receives work direction from City Administrator or designee from partnership cities as <br />assigned. . <br />~ Applies knowledge of State statutes, directives and approved practices pertaining to City <br />engineering. Applies enginecring principles, methods, and techniques involved in <br />construction, land surveys, and public works infrastructure. <br />~ Demonstrates written and verbal communication skills with internal staff, other departments, <br />council, and the public at the City of Rose vi lie and its Partncrship Cities. Requires public <br />contact on a daily and continuous basis, requiring a high degree oftact, courtesy, and sound <br />judgment. <br />~ Has indirect supervision specific to current projects over: <br />. GIS Technician <br />. Project Coordinator (2) <br />. Engineering Technician <br /> <br />Essential Duties and Responsibilities: <br /> <br />I. Directs or conducts preliminary investigation, design and completion of plans and <br />specifications, and assessments to provide accurate information for implementation and <br />optimum utilization of dollars budgeted for each project. Prepares feasibility studies as <br />directed. <br /> <br />2. Collaborates with engineering persOlmel in the inspection of all current projects in the City, <br />providing direction as needed, to assurc they are meeting specifications and schedules. <br /> <br />3. Investigates citizen complaints and/or makes inquiries pertaining to City engineering projects . <br />or conditions and resolves such matters in a tactful and equitable manner. <br /> <br />Page] of3 <br />
