<br />Ridgewood Court Pavement Program - Issues <br /> <br />Page 3 of3 <br /> <br />through. <br /> <br />o The assessment for my property to be waved due to the lowering of my property value for <br />the bctterment of the neighborhood (duc to the negativc impact of my driveway). A <br />precedent for this has becn set by the city when it waived assessing 2 other private property <br />parcels (Island Beach Club) and passing the costs onto the other homcowners in the area. <br />There were several opportunities for the city to maintain or improve my driveway that <br />would have affected other people's driveways in the neighborhood. Since my property is <br />taking the burden in order to not affect others, it makes sense that I should have a benefit. <br />In addition, the city has presented a proposed maintenance agreement to us as homeowners <br />to maintain the shared portion of the road that is in the right of way. <br /> <br />I have voiccd concerns regarding my driveway on several occasions to Frank Ticknor at URS, the city <br />engineer, at a neighborhood meeting at city hall, and at the May City Council Meeting. 1 have done all <br />that 1 can to urge the city to reduce thc dangerous situation present. The major development planned is <br />possibly the only opportunity to address this and the city has chosen not only not to address my <br />concerns, but to further degrade thc situation. Since the city has refused to satisfactorily address the <br />situation, I have bccn forced to contact legal council to detennine a course of action. Please contact me <br />by August 30, 2006 regarding the contents of this letter to prevent action against the City of Ardcn <br />Hills.
