<br />7. Keep all applications active during the year for appointment to vacancies should <br />they occur. The Council reserves the right to appoint any qualified candidates <br />even though they did not apply as a result of an advertisement. <br />8. There is no implied guarantee of appointment or re-appointment to any committee <br />or task force. The sole responsibility for appointment to any City committee lies <br />with the Mayor as the recommending authority and the City Council as the <br />confirming authority. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WORK PLANS AND ANNUAL MEETINGS WITH STANDING COMMITTEES <br />AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br />. For those groups that do not have a City Council-approvcd formal structure, one <br />should be developed and approved by Ordinance or Resolution. This should <br />address items such as appointment process, term limits, and size of the committee. <br />. A work plan for each group should be developed and approved by the City <br />CounciL <br />. Recommended size should be discussed. There should be an odd number or <br />members. A suggested minimwn is five, but the maximum could be higher. <br />. Interested residents should completc an application, with an option or including a <br />letter if interest. <br />. Committee members, Chair, and Council Liaison shall be appointed by the Mayor <br />and ratified by the City CounciL <br />. Attempts shall be made to have a balance of interests represented on a committee, <br />geographic representation, etc. <br />. The City Administrator will assign a staff liaison to committees and commissions. <br />. The City Council Liaison will be responsible for rcporting back to the City <br />Council and updating them on the progress of the committee/commission. <br />. Each year there shall be an annual meeting with the committees and commissions, <br />to be conducted as a Council Work Session or Committee Swnmit.
