City of Arden Hills tree removal contract will cover the period April I , 2006 to <br />December 31, 2006. If the City is satisfied with the performance of the selected <br />contractor, the contract may be extended to the 2007 calendar year. <br /> <br />2. In submitting this bid, the Bidder wlderstands that the City reserves thc right to <br />reject any and all bids. <br /> <br />3. The bid form must be fully completed and signed. The bidder should be prepared <br />to submit a financial and experience statement upon request. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />In accordance with Arden Hills City Code Chapter 7 (Section 710.12), <br />homeowners are given an opportunity to remove diseased trees from their <br />property. Trees remaining can be assigned to the contractor for removal. <br />Thereafter, the contractor agrees to remove all trees on a given list within 20 days <br />after notification. All accessible stumps must be removed and properly backfilled <br />within 30 days ofthe notification date. <br /> <br />5. The contractor could be called upon at short notice to remove non-diseased storm <br />- damaged, "nuisance" or hazardous trees at contract price from both public and <br />private property. <br /> <br />6. Removal costs indicated on the bid form include the removal and back fill of the <br />stump(s) as well as the trees for Category I - Accessible Trees. <br /> <br />7. The City reserves the right to split the contract according to bids received for trees <br />and stumps (Category I) and trees with access difficulties (Category II). <br /> <br />8. A performance bond equal to the projected project cost is required. Insurance <br />with minimum limits of$1 million (liability), $1 million (property damage), $1 <br />million (auto liability) will be required and proven with a listing ofthc City of <br />Arden Hills as additional insured. Workman's compensation insurance in the <br />amount stated by the State of Minnesota will be required. Proof ofthe above- <br />stated insurance amounts must be provided to the City before tree work ean <br />commence. <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />Applicants should be able to demonstrate a successful record of municipal <br />contracts and be able to submit a list of previous employers and references. <br />
