<br />These changes to the Consent agenda are part of the general agreement that the Council <br />needs to micromanage less. Michelle has enough experience now to accurately <br />predict what can go on the Consent agenda. Wise usc of a Consent agenda leaves <br />more time on the regular agenda for discussion and decision making on more <br />important topics. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />How items get placed on the City Council meeting agenda: <br /> <br />As discussed at the April 2006 Work Session, Couneil has agreed to a general process for <br />how items get placed on an agenda. See attached summary document. <br /> <br />REPORTS FROM STAFF TO COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> <br />An important aspect of using the Consent agenda and being careful not to do staff s jobs <br />is what kind of infonnation the Council is getting. Michelle is improving Council <br />reports to adequatcly provide the infonnation they need to steward and monitor the <br />City's resources, work and goal attainment. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Michclle provides to the Council a list of the reports she and her <br />staff are improving. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br />
