You may say ''I'm surprised" or "I'm <br />frustrated", but don't make negative comments after thc votc is finish cd. <br />o Techniques for cooling down angry Council members include saying <br />"When you're this angry I can't hear you" or asking for a recess. <br />o During work sessions and meeting discussions it's important to get a sense <br />of where pcople are coming from. Try not to surprise others with your vote <br />AND <br />o It's okay to change your mind when the time to vote arrives. It could be part of new council training. <br /> <br />BUILDING THE COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA and PACKETS <br /> <br />Michelle will create more condcnse meeting packets, including a shorter list of upcoming <br />Council agenda items. <br /> <br />Michelle will prcpare a more useful Consent agenda. <br /> <br />Whenever possible, Council members are expected to let Michelle know on Monday if <br />he/she is pulling an item from the Consent agenda. A brief question is allowable <br />during the Consent agenda section of the meeting. The Mayor should make sure <br />such a quick question does not become a drawn-out discussion. <br />
