NPDES Annua] Storm Water Meetinl! <br /> <br />Ms. Giga stated as of March ]0, 2003, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency required all <br />cities within the Seven County Metro Region to apply for General StomJ Water PemJit as part of <br />Federal National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) requirements, In order to <br />comply with new federal regulations, municipalities were required to develop a Stonn Water <br />Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) that focuscd on ways the municipality would reduce the <br />amount of sedimcnt and pollution entering the surrounding water bodies, The SWPPP required <br />six minimum control measures that needed to be addrcssed by the City. Each measure was <br />aimed at reducing the amount of pollution entering water bodies through various methods such as <br />public outreach and education, regulatory ordinances, and physical structures constructed as part <br />of the stOmJ water sewer system. Each control measure included several Best Management <br />Practices (BMPs) that would be used to accomplish the measure and each would include <br />measurable goals that could establish the effectiveness of the SWPPP, <br /> <br />She noted every year the City was required to hold a public meeting on the SWPPP, The City <br />was also requircd to submit an annual report to the MPCA documenling the accomplishments of <br />the previous year. <br /> <br />She summarized the minimum control measures and the accomplishments of 2005 as well as the <br />goals for 2006, <br /> <br />Mayor Aplikowski opened the public hearing at 7:29 p,m, <br /> <br />There were no comments made. <br /> <br />Mayor Aplikowski closed the public hearing at 7:30 p,m, <br />
