Wolfe, City Administrator <br /> <br />Schawn Johnson, Assistant City Administrator~0 <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Motion to Accept the National Incident Management System Training <br />Requirements for Members of the City Council and City staff <br /> <br />ENCLOSURES: <br /> <br />NIMS Training Matrix for City Council and City Staff Members <br />NII\1S Training Requirement Summary <br /> <br />Overview <br />In order for the City to be in compliance with the federal government's National Incident <br />Management System (NII\1S) requirements the following classes must be completed by City <br />Councilmember's and City staff members by October 1,2006: <br />. IS-700 National Incident Management System (Introduction); <br />. ICS- I 00 Entry Level Incident Command System; <br />. ICS-200 Basic Lcvel Incident Command System, <br /> <br />The aforementioned classes are required for anyone who has an active role in thc jurisdiction's <br />emergency response and/or its emergency operations plan. This includes managers, department <br />heads, and elected officials. Basically the City is required to train anyone whose job or location <br />may change during an emergency situation, Due to our small staff, it would be in the City's bcsl <br />interest to make sure that everyone has completed the required training courses. <br /> <br />The IS-SOO (National Response Plan) must be taken by October 1,2006, The IS-SOO is required <br />for emergency managers or persounel who assume primary responsibility for an emergency <br />situation or has command responsibilities. According to the City's Emergency Operation <br />Procedures, members of the City Council, City Administrator, Assistant City Administrator, and <br />department heads would be required to take the IS-SOO training class, <br /> <br />The following Incident Command System (ICS) training classes must be completed by members <br />of the City Council and department heads by October 1,2007: <br />. ICS-300 Intermediate Level Incident Command System; <br />. ICS-400 Advanced Level Incident Command System, <br />
