<br />The State of Minnesota Department Emergency Management offers training to government . <br />entities that covers the ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 300, and ICS 400 in a two day training seminar. <br />City staff has been in contact with the Minnesota Department of Emergency Management and is <br />attempting to host lhe rn'o-day seminar for sometime in August at the Arden Hills City Hall. In <br />City staff's opinion, the two day seminar is the most efficient way to offer the training and <br />ensure that the City is meeting the federal requirements, <br /> <br />The IS-700, IS-800, ICS-IOO, and ICS 200 classes are also available on-line at <br />www,training,fcma,gov/emiweb/is/c[1;Jist.asp, At this timc, lhc ICS 300 and ICS 400 classes are <br />not available on-line at the FEMA wcbsite. Although the IS-300 and IS-400 training classes are <br />scheduled to be available on-line by 2007. <br /> <br />Once you have completed lhe on-line classes, please forward me a copy of your training <br />certificate. A copy of the certificate will be placed in your personnel for record keeping <br />purposes, <br /> <br />Please be advised that the National Incident Management System (NIMS) is a work in progress. <br />Future requirements or changes to the current program may be forth coming in the near future. I <br />will do my best to make sure that members of the City Council and City staff are informed of <br />these changes on a regular basis. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />City staffrecorrunends a motion by the City Council to accept the National Incident Management <br />System (NIMS) training requirements set forth by the Federal Emergency Management Agency <br />(FEMA). <br /> <br />. <br />
