Approval of Recruitment Plan for the Public Works Director Position <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />At the July 10 City Council meeting, the Council held a post-meeting work session to discuss the <br />options for reorganization of the Operations and Maintenance Department. Several options were <br />prescnted to Council, and staff recommended Option C. After discussion, Council directed staff <br />to proceed with preparing for the reorganization and to bring the item to a future Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br />PROPOSAL <br /> <br />At this time, staff is proposing the following actions by City Council: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Approve the new organization chart for the Arden Hills Public Works Department. <br />a, Department name change from "Operations and Maintenance" to "Public Works" <br /> <br />Approve the upgrade of the existing "Recreation Program Supervisor" position to <br />"Parks and Recreation Manager." <br />a. New job description <br />b, Additional seasonal assistance in recreation programming <br />c. Adjust the City's compensation plan for the new position <br />d. New salary for the incnmbent in the position <br /> <br />Approve a Recruitment Plan for the Public Works Director position, <br />a. New job description <br />b.
