The bids Wdre <br />referred to the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Watermain Improvement No. 71-1 - B~~B~atlon <br />Engineer Christofferson presented a tabulation of bids, as attached, <br />taken July 23, 1971. Motion was made by R. Herrick, seconded by S. <br />Olmen, that Resolution No. 71-~~be approved. awardlno the bid for <br />Floral Drive Water Improvement No. 71-1, to the lowest bidder, Dunkley <br />Surfacing Company, Inc., In the amount of $77,812.80; motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Engineer Lund was Instructed to draw up the project contracts. <br /> <br />V. SelvoQ Water Line Extension Request , <br />Engineer Lund presented an Informal report, dated July 26, 1971, showing <br />proposals for furnishing a water line to th~ H. Selvog residence. One <br />proposal showed' a 6" line, wh.ich would serve! the Selvogs, and.eventually <br />the Johnstons. . : <br />! <br />i . <br />A second proposal Included In the report sh~wed a 12' watermaln running <br />north, parallel to Old Highway 10, which co~ld tie Into the existing <br />water line to Bethel College and the County:Road E2 line, which would <br />give a second source of water to the residents of the Shorewood Hills <br />residents. Such 12" line could also help serve the undeveloped property <br />south of Shorewood Hil Is In the future. Mr. Lund strongly r~commended <br />the Installation of the 12" line. The Council determined to study the <br />matter. ' , <br />
