Henderson expressed his concern about- a probable tax freeze <br />of some kind, which may be passed this year. <br /> <br />The Council asked the Committee to prepare a job description, <br />detailing .the park sites and the estimated time required for each <br />Job. Mayor Crepeau further informed the Committee and Supervisor <br />Beecher that part time employee Steve Zehm Is to be assl9ned park <br />grass cutting as his No. I priority, with park mowing to be done first <br />and park grass trimming to be done second. Mr. Beecher was author- <br />Ized to use Steve Zehm on an overtime ~asls during the summer months. <br /> <br />Tree Removal at In~erson Park <br />R. Herr I ck reported that he w I II order the remova I of one I a rge <br />cottonwood tree on Ingerson Park and the trimming of a second cotton- <br />wood tree, which Is partly dead. <br /> <br />4It Parks and PlaVQround Equipment <br />L. Stromquist was asked to order a "Giant Stride" as detailed In <br />Committee minutes of June 15. <br /> <br />The Parks and Recreation Committee was asked .+0 obtain Informal <br />bids and then purchase a gerl mower. <br /> <br />Plans and Specifications for Chas. P~rrv Park <br />R. Herrick reported that the Banister Engineering Co. has not yet <br />completed specifications for the Chas. Perry Park Development, but <br />that Engineer Lund has agreed to stay on the project-this week. <br /> <br />Human RI~hts Commission <br />R. Herrick reported that the Human Rights Commission has been meeting <br />weekly, and that an "Indian;Plelations Week" will be held the week of <br />July 12 - 16; sponsored by the Arden Hills Human Rights Commission <br />and Bethel College at the Arden Hills campus of Bethel College. <br />The activities wi II Include adult programs, a fami Iy program and <br />a youth program; several Ind ians wi II participate in the event. <br />Information Is being distributed to all Village residents with their <br />utility bills this week. <br /> <br />~EPORT OF ~AYOR HENRY J. Henderson, to approve <br />a request of G.D.M., Inc. to transfer 100 shares of G.D.M., Inc. <br />capital stock from Lewis W. Llndemer to Marjorie R. Lindemer, as <br />custodian for Mark L. lIndemer, under the Minnesota .Unlform Gift <br />,to Minors Act. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Publlc'HearlnQ-Northwestern Bel I Telephone Co. Rate Increase <br />Mayor Crepeau appointed E. G. Henderson to attend a public hearing <br />before the M1nnesota Public Services Commission on Tuesday, July 6, <br />1971, at 10:00 a.m. on the request of Northwestern Bell Telephone <br />Co. to change their telephone rates. Hearing to be held at 410 <br />State Office Building, St. Paul. The Council agreed that our position <br />would be similar to that taken in the N.S.P. proposed rate increase. <br /> <br />Municipal AccountlnQ <br />L. Stromquist reported that Accountant Mrs. Charlotte McNlesh recently <br />completed a municipal accounting course sponsored by the University <br />of Minnesota and L.M.M. The classes were held evenings once a week <br />for 30 weeks at Anoka Ramsey Jun lor College. The Council. commended <br />Mrs. McNiesh. <br /> <br />-5- <br />
