Crepeau, Jr. at <br />8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Present - Mayor H. Crepeau, Jr., Councilmen S. Olmen, J. Hollenhorst, <br />E. G. Henderson and R. Herrick. <br /> <br />Absent - None. <br /> <br />Also Present - Clerk AdmInistrator L. Stromquist, Attorney V. Courtney, <br />Treasurer W. Read, Engineers D. Lund and D. Christoffersen <br />and Assistant Clerk D. Zehm. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of March 29, 1971 were <br />approved as presented. <br /> <br />Case No. 70-5. Continental Oil Company. Special Use Permit Request <br />Mr. Dale Hudson, Division Engineer, Continental 011 Company, re- <br />quested the Council to reconsider its Special Use Permit application <br />for a >>car clinic>> at Red Fox Road and Lexington Avenue. <br /> <br />After a brief review of the proposal, J. Hollenhorst, moved that <br />the Councl I deny the Special Use Permit for the fol lowing reasons: <br /> <br />I. A satisfactory preliminary plan has not. been submitted <br />for the entire tract of land, as required by Ordinance 98, <br />and the use Is not In accordance with Ordinance 98. The <br />proposed car clinic, In the opinion of the Council, would <br />hinder the proper development of the balanCe of the tract. <br /> <br />2. There are already too many service stations at the Inter- <br />section of Red Fox Road and Lexington Avenue at 1-694. <br /> <br />The motion was seconded by S. Olmen and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />J. Hollenhorst further stated that he holds no prejudice toward <br />Conoco and he would favorably consider the proposal if It were <br />properly combined as a part of a development plan and/or at a loca- <br />tion not already congested with service stations. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE ATTORNEY VINCENT P. COURTNEY <br /> <br />Mobile Home Ordinance <br />A Special Council meeting was scheduled on May 3, 1971, at 7:30 p.m. <br />to consider the MObile Home Ordinance and any other ordinances ready <br />for Councl I study at that time. <br /> <br />_~._Stromquist was requested to prepare the proper noti~es. <br /> <br />Land Trade F j I j 0.9 <br />Attorney Courtney advised the Council that he wil I make the necessary <br />filing of the Land Trade Resolution with the Register of Deeds. <br /> <br />500 Line S~ur Track Extens~ <br />Attorney Courtney a~vlsed the Council that the application to extend <br />the Soo Line spur track across Red Fox Road was considered by the <br />Ramsey County Board, and Ramsey County decided to return Red Fox Road <br />to Arden Hi I Is. <br /> <br />J. Hollenhorst moved that the Council refer the matter to Attorney <br />Courtney and Engineer Lund to examine all aspects in detail, Including <br />the Soo Line Rai Iroad Company plans for the crossing of Red Fox Road, <br />and to report their findings to the Council at the April 26 Council <br />meeting, at which time the Council wi I I consider the resolution re <br />the proposed acceptance of Red Fox Road by the Village; seconded by <br />S. Olmen. Motion carried unanimously. <br />-1- <br />
