Hollenhorst was requested to call Mr. Bruce Solly re the status <br />of the pending retail and warehouse proposed application. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE ENGINEER DONALD LUND <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Street Improvement Petition - MInneapolIs Hide and Tallo~ Company <br />Engineer Lund advised the Counci I that Minneapolis Hide and Tallow <br />Company represents 50~ of the property owners involved In the road <br />Improvement, as requested, owning all the property on the south side <br />of the road. He advised that Mr. O. J. Truhler apparently owns all <br />the property on the north side of the road. <br /> <br />Engineer Lund advised the Council that the report submitted to New <br />Brighton by Carley Engineer Company is not a signed feasibility <br />report but a sketchy tabulation of probable costs, estimating the <br />cost of the improvement at approximatelyW4,000.OO. <br /> <br />Engineer Lund was requested to check the Carley Engineering Company <br />report and to prepare a feasibility report for consideration by the <br />Council on April 26, 1971. <br /> <br />S. Olmen moved that the feasibility report be ordered and that a <br />Public Hearing be scheduled re the proposed improvement on May 10, <br />1971 at 8:00 p.m. at the Village Hall, as per attached resolution; <br />seconded by E. G. Henderson. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Municl al Water Petition - Floral Drive <br />Engineer Lund advised the ouncil hat The petition, requesting that <br />municipal water lInes be extended to serve properties on Floral <br />Drive, consisted of signatures of 31*~ of the property owners affected, <br />excluding the property owned by the Vii lage of Arden Hil Is. <br /> <br />The Council tabled the matter until the signatures of the required <br />35% of the property owners are obtained; suggesting that Mr. James <br />Johnson be contacted re extending municipal water to Valentine Lake- <br />view Plat No.2, since he had requested this extension some.tlme ago. <br /> <br />Status of Proposed Highway 10 Turn-around <br />Clerk Administrator l. Stromquist was requested to check status of <br />this matter with the Minnesota Highway Departmen~. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN JOHN HOlLENHORST - Planning and Zoning <br /> <br />CasQ No. 70-52, Pre~b~terian Homes - Special Use Permit Request <br />J. Hollenhqrst moved that the Special Use Permit for the expansion of <br />the facilIties of the Presbyterian Homes at 3220 Lake Johanna Boule- <br />vard be approved as presented, seconded b~ R. Herrick. <br /> <br />Discussion fol lowed the motion, and the plans for the proposed ex- <br />pansion were reviewed by Dr. B. J. Kennedy, Vice President of Presby- <br />terian Homes and Architect Robert Ackerman. <br /> <br />Reverend Hagstrom, Administrator of Presbyterian Homes, said that <br />such an easement could not be granted, but he assured the residents <br />and the Council that Presbyterian Homes desires to be a "good <br />neighbor" and will COOperate with the residents in any way they <br />reasonably can. <br />
