REPORT OF VILLAGE ENGINEER DONALD LUND . Street Improvement Petition - MInneapolIs Hide and Tallo~ Company Engineer Lund advised the Counci I that Minneapolis Hide and Tallow Company represents 50~ of the property owners involved In the road Improvement, as requested, owning all the property on the south side of the road. He advised that Mr. O. J. Truhler apparently owns all the property on the north side of the road. Engineer Lund advised the Council that the report submitted to New Brighton by Carley Engineer Company is not a signed feasibility report but a sketchy tabulation of probable costs, estimating the cost of the improvement at approximatelyW4,000.OO. Engineer Lund was requested to check the Carley Engineering Company report and to prepare a feasibility report for consideration by the Council on April 26, 1971. S. Olmen moved that the feasibility report be ordered and that a Public Hearing be scheduled re the proposed improvement on May 10, 1971 at 8:00 p.m. at the Village Hall, as per attached resolution; seconded by E. G. Henderson. Motion carried unanimously. Municl al Water Petition - Floral Drive Engineer Lund advised the ouncil hat The petition, requesting that municipal water lInes be extended to serve properties on Floral Drive, consisted of signatures of 31*~ of the property owners affected, excluding the property owned by the Vii lage of Arden Hil Is. The Council tabled the matter until the signatures of the required 35% of the property owners are obtained; suggesting that Mr. James Johnson be contacted re extending municipal water to Valentine Lake- view Plat No.2, since he had requested this extension some.tlme ago. Status of Proposed Highway 10 Turn-around Clerk Administrator l. Stromquist was requested to check status of this matter with the Minnesota Highway Departmen~. REPORT OF COUNCILMAN JOHN HOlLENHORST - Planning and Zoning CasQ No. 70-52, Pre~b~terian Homes - Special Use Permit Request J. Hollenhqrst moved that the Special Use Permit for the expansion of the facilIties of the Presbyterian Homes at 3220 Lake Johanna Boule- vard be approved as presented, seconded b~ R. Herrick. Discussion fol lowed the motion, and the plans for the proposed ex- pansion were reviewed by Dr. B. J. Kennedy, Vice President of Presby- terian Homes and Architect Robert Ackerman. Reverend Hagstrom, Administrator of Presbyterian Homes, said that such an easement could not be granted, but he assured the residents and the Council that Presbyterian Homes desires to be a "good neighbor" and will COOperate with the residents in any way they reasonably can.
