He said <br />that Ordinance No. i38, recently adopted, omits retail sales as <br />a permitted accessory use in l-I zoning. <br /> <br />Atter discussion, Councilman Hollenhorst moved that Attorney. . <br />Courtn~y be ~uthorlzed to prepare a. letter to the ptitential d~veloPer, <br />to be signed by the Mayor, and to prepare an amendment to the <br />Zoning Ordinance, including "retail sales" as a permitted accessory <br />use In L-l zoning; seconded by Councilman Henderson. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney was fequested to prepare the letter as soon as <br />possible, and to subm.lt his draft of the ordinance amendment for <br />Planning Commission consideratIon on Thursday, January 21, 1971. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE ENCINEER DONALD LUND <br /> <br />fronta~e Road Maintenance Request - 'llnnesota Hiahway Department <br /> <br />Engineer Lund presented a request from th~Mlnnesota Highway Depart- <br />ment that Arden Hills agree to maintain the service road along the <br />west side of Highway 1110, north of Highway 1196 to the trailer park; <br />maintenance to Include snow plowin~, weed cutting and minor toad <br />repairs; the Highway Department to continue to do major surfacinp and <br />major repairs. <br /> <br />The Counci I referred the matter to the PublIc Works Committee for <br />Its recommendations regarding the VI I iage-proposed cul-de-sac and <br />the maintenance agreement requested by the Highway Department. <br /> <br />Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. 14, Pendlna Easements <br /> <br />Engineer Lund advised the Council that an easement probiem has <br />prevented the completion of Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. i4. <br />After discussion, Councilman Herrick was reauested to discuss the <br />easement problem with the property owners Involved; advising that <br />I f the requl red easements.cannot be obtained, the sewer J Ine wll J <br />not be extended. <br /> <br />Gideo Construction Compeny, Est. No.2, Sanitary Sewer Improvement <br />No. 15. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Engineer Donald Lund presented Estimate No.2, Sanitary Sewer <br />Improvement No. 15, Gideo Construction Company, recommending payment, <br />subject to verification that all material suppliers have be~n paid. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Herrick that Gideo Construction Company, <br />Estimate No.2, Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. i5, be pl:ild, in the <br />amount of $2,133.00, subject to verification by Clerk Adminfstrator <br />Stromquist that all material suppliers have been paid; seconded by <br />Councilman Henderson. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Engineer Lund was requested to provide list of suppliers to Clerk <br />Administrator. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCiLMAN JOHN HOLLENHORST ~ Planning and Zoning <br /> <br />Case No. 70-44, Solid Waste Disposal Ordinance. <br /> <br />Councilman Hollenhorst advised that the Planning Commission re90mmends <br />that Arden Hills adopt an ordinance joining Ramsey County in a Joint <br />solid waste management program; establish a review procedure and <br />repeal Sectlons 2 through 6 of Village Ordinance No. 91. <br /> <br />The Council tabled any action on the proposed ordinance until the <br />recommendations from the Ord mance Review Committee are presented. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
