I <br />MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING - VILIAGE OF ARDEN HII,]5 - June 22, 1961 <br />Pa�e 2 <br />� The matter of providing aceas into a11 of the reaidential areas was dis- <br />cussed and the general contr�etor Pelt that no great problem would be <br />encountered in providing a reasonable aaess to the area. <br />After completion of the conPerence, which laeted approximately 45 min. the <br />mayor and village clerk and counailmen felt thst the contractor did provide <br />reasonable assurances that work would start as aoon as poasible, progresa <br />in a uniform and orderly fashion, progress at a reasonably rapid rata, with <br />little or no interruptions except for bad weather and saw no reason why the p <br />project could not be completed op time, <br />Exact scheduling as to which order ahould be used in grading streets would <br />be discussed with the engineer qt such time as work progressed and advanced. <br />Tlae mayor stated that if aqy emergency arose that the village council would <br />be cooperative in holding vahatever special council meetings were necessary <br />to keep the project in progress at all times. <br />At the cloae of the discussiop the matter of location of the enginear�s <br />laboratory was discussed apd some discusaion wae held in regard to placin� <br />the laboratory at the gravel source for the Class 5 gravel and BA-2 supplg. <br />After flirther detailed discusa3on of this item at our office, it was felt <br />that a centrally located laboratory would be better th.at one at the gravel <br />pit. The Potter Construction Co. is oontemplating placing their field <br />office near the Arden Lumber Msrt at Iiamline and Coupty Road nE^.Probably <br />the field laboratory could be located in an �rea adjacent to this <br />• Since little or no discussion was held in regard to the narious details of <br />grading and sources of supply for Class 4 sand and gravel subbase and <br />similar items, conferences with the contractor or his sub-contractors will <br />be necessary from time to time. <br />The mstter of providing aurveying stakes was discussed and it was mentioned <br />that grade stakes would be provided on 50 foot iqternals or less as neceas- <br />ary at 20 ft. from the centerline wherever possible. That these grade <br />atakes would ba used to determine the grade of the top of subgrade eleva�ion <br />and also the top of the Clasa 4 pitrum sand and �ravel. <br />The top of Class 5 granal will be staked with blue tops set at each �utter <br />and the centerline of the streets at 50 ft. intervals or less as determined <br />bq the engiaeer. <br />crews <br />The atorm sewer contractor, Mr. Potter, ststed that two storm aewers were <br />ready to'start work as aoon aa prqctical.
