HIi�T�S <br />_ ppril 24, 1961 <br />The meeting was callad to order by Mayor Ashbach at 8;00 P.M. <br />ROLL CAI,L: Present: Ashbech, Kennedy, Crepeau, Stromquist, Olmen <br />pbsent : None <br />Also attending - Roger Short of Bannister Engineering Co. <br />Minutes for the meeting of APril lOth were epproved as presented. <br />\ <br />N33W BUSIN�SS; Mx'. Lawis W. Lindemer, 658 5nelling Ave. So. appeared before <br />t e Council requesting that an investigation be made of himself for purposes <br />of awarding to him tha transfer of an Off-Sale and On-Sale Liquor License <br />in Arden Hi11s. He presented application forms to the Council. P6r. Crepeau <br />�aoved, Olmen seconded, that the applicatio❑ be referred to the Finance Com- <br />mittee for study and then brin� back a report to tha Council. Motion carried. <br />A7R. JOHN SUI�ZIV�1N, 1429 Skiles Lane presented a petition to the Council <br />signed by 39 residents in the Area o£ Arden Hills �{2 who do not favor perm- <br />anent street impronements in their area such as described in "some ❑ewspaper <br />story„. These people fesl permanent streets should not be put in until the <br />following has taken place: <br />l. Water linea in. <br />� 2. Streets settle properly after excavating for rvater <br />• and sewer linea. <br />3. Existing land drainage problem is solved. <br />4. All houses should hook up to sewer. <br />The residents are in favor of oil and sand surfacing onlg at this time. <br />ry <br />WAYQR ASFIBACH x In rebuttal to Prtr. Sullivan's statement th,at there was such <br />a compulsion among governmental officials to spend money� I�ayor Ashbach <br />recalled the advisory public hearinga thmt had taken place £or the express <br />purpose of £inding out what the reaidents wanted as regards street improve- <br />ment. <br />MR. CREPEAU presided at the hearing which included residente of Arden Aills <br />�2 and reported the following: <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />At the end <br />favored oil <br />One person vuanted concrete roeds. <br />Four w�anted 3 ton roads <br />I�ajority of those residents who spoke wanted a <br />bettar road - perhapa a 6 or 7 ton road. <br />of the meeting Mr. Olmen stated that by a show of hands six <br />and sant surfacing - thirty-three favored 6 ton road or better. <br />JSRRY SKII.DUM, 3419 Glenarden Road, said he did not want a super highway <br />in front of his home. Maybe oil and sand surfacin� won't do the job either. <br />• He doesn't know. <br />MAYOR ASHBACH: stated, in ansvaer to further comments regarding °compulsion <br />spending, that when the sewer improvement project was started Arden Hi11s <br />#2 did not want sewers so the area was eliminated from the program. <br />� � <br />
