Each lot in tnat area being proport- <br />�onately the same the residants agreed to take ths whole bill and divide it <br />equally among the lot owners. <br />In answer to Mr. Sullivan's question regarding the likelihood of the State <br />Highway Department using village roads, Mayor Ashbach said they probably <br />would not use them at all or onlg on a very rare occasion and then only with <br />�icles that were withip the load limit of the road used. <br />E7�IvIER ISAKSEN, 3426 Glenarden Court brought. up the discussion of the inconsist- <br />oncy of lot sizes in Arden Hills #2 and felt it was not fair to assesathb <br />residents iq this area on lot size. <br />MAYOR ASHEACH stated that the legal public hearing �vould give the residents <br />the opportunity to hear firm bids and then decide what to do. Mr. Isaksen <br />asked when this hearing �vould be. Mr. Roger Short suggested it would be <br />about 30 days. Mr, Isaksen asked how li-�any cho3ces they wo uld 'nave to choose <br />from. Mayor pshbach said bids would be in for two types of roads. Mr. <br />�Sullivan again spoke and said the reaeon for his petition rvas to bring an <br />expression of the views of those residepts unable to attend tne preliminary <br />hearings. Upon questionin� by iviayor Ashbach, Mr.Sullivan could not answer <br />what percentage of Arden Hills #2 residents were represented by his 39 signers. <br />A resident of the area expressed the view that perhaps tney had misunderstood <br />the ^newspaper article". <br />MAYOR ASHI3ACI3 anewered 1u1r. Isaksenfe question regardin� pro-rating of road <br />assessment as follows; <br />1. A preliminary hearing merely advisory was held. <br />2. A legal hearing will be held at which tiine bids come in <br />and tne project is initiated if the residents agree. <br />3. An assessment nearing is held at the end of the project whep <br />all bills are in and at this tiine it is determined 'now to assess <br />the residents. <br />It was D9eyor Ashbach�s opinion at this time that since there is such a <br />variance i❑ lots in Arden Hills #2 the assessment wi11 be on a front foot basie, <br />Mr. Sullivan stated that ne was conv�nced that it was inappropriate to �o <br />any other way than on a front foot basis. <br />MAYOR ASHBELCH asked t�r. Sullivan if the Council should take his petition at <br />its face value and just oil and sand the roads in Arden Hills ,�2 even though <br />•some of the residents who had signed the petition and were preaent �night <br />now state that hearing proposed C08'�8 they might be inclined to go along <br />with a better road program. <br />\ � <br />
