Minutes of Regul3r Council Meeting February 27, t978 <br />Page six , <br />Council requested that the Program include the distinction fihat <br />certain of the programs are not Viilage-aponsored. <br />TNin Cities 7ree Trust Pr�osal <br />Buckley referred Councll to his memo of 2/14/78, and attachments, <br />and Introduced R��If Svendsen, Director of TCTT, who explained the <br />reforestation program of inetro area mun!cipalities. <br />• ,n discussfon, C��uncii expressed concern that munictpallttes <br />Kould compete aith commercial nurseries. Svendsen explained that <br />the Cities buy t:ie trees; TCTT provides a service - establishment <br />of a common nurs�3ry for seVeral communities. <br />. <br />` J <br />• <br />� <br />• <br />Buckley noted that the E2,000 budget for reforestatfon thls year <br />has been spent, Yould budget tor the program in the i979 budget. <br />Hanson moved that Council approve the concept for incluston 7n <br />next year's budg<3t. Motion was seconded by Woodburn. Motlon <br />did not carry (Hanson voti�g in favor of �he motion; Wingert, <br />Crepeau, Crichton, Woodburn voting in oQposition?. <br />AdvertisemenY fo� Bids - 1978 iree Removai <br />Buckley referred Council to the Specifications for Removal of <br />Trees and Stumps on Private and Public Property for the City <br />of Arden Hiiis; noted that it ts essentlaliy the same as tast <br />year except that tree slzes are dascribsd by diameter, rather <br />than by circumference. <br />Wingert moved, s�conded by Hanson, that Counci! authorize the <br />advertisement for bids; bid opening to be on Thursday, March 23, <br />f978 at 2:00 p.m. Motion carried unanimously. <br />State Department of Aqriculture - Short Course <br />�oodburn moved, ��econded by �ingert, that Councii euthorize <br />Buckley°s attendance at the short course for Disease Tree <br />personnel, March 7th, includ(ng expenses which Buckley estimated <br />to be Si5.00. Council deferred actian on the proposed <br />landscape plan pending recommenda-tions from the Parks Committee. <br />Finance Commlttee Recommendations re 5ewer and Water Rates <br />Ueferred to March .6th Special Councii Mee#ing. <br />Chatham Third Adc�itfon <br />Wingert moved, seconded by k+oodburn, that Council approve the <br />Preiiminary Plat ot Chatham Third Addi�ion, as submitted.
