F. Kennedy, on September 25. 1971, <br />was announced by Mayor Crepeau. Mr. Kennedy was the third Mayor <br />of Arden Hills. He served a threeJyear term as Mayor. from 1963 <br />through 1965, and was Village Councilman from 1959 through 1962. <br />The Council asked Mrs. STromquist to write to the Kennedy famll~ <br />expressing Council condolences. . <br /> <br />Snelling Avenue Service Road <br />Mayor Crepeau reported a proposed plan of Mr. Hicks, 3590 North <br />Snelling Avenue, to allow residents abutting the service road to <br />do something at the dead-end section of the road. Clerk Administrator <br />to ask them to submit their plans to the Village Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Resignation of Maintenance Supervisor <br />Mayor Crepeau read a letter of resignation from Maintenance Super- <br />visor Everett Beecher, resignation to be effective October 15. 1971. <br /> <br />Mr. Beecher has accepted the position of Public Works Operations <br />Director with the City of Hopkins. <br /> <br />.!' <br />'..," <br /> <br />Mayor Crepeau commended Mr. Beecher for his past services. and accepted <br />his offer of help over the transition period. Mr. Beecher was asked <br />to work out a ~chedule with Councilman Olmen. <br /> <br />Civil Defense Unit <br />A letter, dated Sepi-ember 9, 1971, from Mounds VlewUigh School <br />Principal Kunze, was read. Mr. Kunze asked that the Shorevlew Civil <br />Defense members be deputized to aid the Arden Hills Pollee Depart- <br />ment to pol ice school activities. Clerk Administrator was asked to <br />obtain the names of the Shorevlew Civil Defense members and supply <br />the Arden Hills Council with the list. <br /> <br />Snellin~ Aven4e Service Lana Improvement <br />Mayor Crepeau reported that the residents abutting the service lane <br />had al I agreed to accept a $200.00 assessment for the street Improve- <br />ment, except one resident who owns t lot abutting the street who )s <br />out of town and has been sent a letter request on the matter. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~etln~ with County Board Re Rainbow HillsYro.iect <br />14ayor Crepeau reported that he and t4r. Donald Partridge appeared before <br />the Ramsey County Board on September 20, and reviewed plans for Rain- <br />bow Hil Is with them, partlcularlfy as to the ~ralnage and greenereas <br />of the project. Mr. Crepeau said the Board was very receptive and <br />indicated that they felt the project would enhance their green areas <br />and that they commended Arden Hi lis for its cooperation. The County <br />Board agreed -to consider "the area of County Road E2, from Old Snelling <br />to the Baptist building, as part of their Park Development Plan, and <br />also to study the area con"tlguous to Tony Schmidt Park as part of the <br />same plan. These two areas were left off the original plan. <br /> <br />HIQhway 51 in Arden Hills <br />Mayor Ci-apeau referred the Counci I to a letter from the Highway . <br />Department to Senator Ashbach. dated February 9, 1971, wh.lch related <br />to speed limits along TH51.
