<br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br />Page two <br /> <br />~lay 10, 1971 <br /> <br />attached resolution. In the amount of $110.500. and authorize <br />Banister Engineering Company to prepare specifications for parts <br />A and B, eliminating part C at this time; Engineer to check feasibility <br />of eliminating one hydrant on James Circle; seconded by S. Olmen. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The Council authorized Engineer Lund to run soil borings along Hamllne <br />Avenue, as requested. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Engineer Lund was requested to supply Attorney Courtney with a copy <br />of the drawing, indicating the encroachment and the location of the <br />stop box, as well as the legal description of the property. <br /> <br />Sanitary Sewer Improvement No.2 - Assessment Adjustment Request~ Mr. <br />Pat McLa ren. <br />Engineer Lund reviewed his letter to the Council, dated April 28, 1971, <br />and Indicated the property location on a map, advising that since the <br />property was assessed, It has been spl it into two parcels which front <br />on Beckman Avenue (actual frontages of 97.7 and 87.4 ft.), Instead of <br />one parcel fronting on Johanna Boulevard (118 ft., plus 15 ft. on the <br />side street, or 133 ft. @ $IO.OO/front foot). <br /> <br />Engineer Lund advised that even though the larger assessment was in- <br />advertantly placed on the smaller of the two parcels, both parcels <br />resulted in less than the $IO.OO/front ft. assessment which was appor- <br />tioned to other properties under the improvement; therefore, he . <br />recommended that no assessment abatement be made. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mr. McL~ren stated that he felt if the 133 ft. assessment was considered <br />an appropriate assessment for the single parcel (now split Into two <br />parcels), that the spl it Into two parcels should not have Increased <br />the assessment for the property; that the original assessment should <br />have been apportioned to the two parcels according to lot size; his <br />lot, being the smaller of the two parcels, to receive the smaller <br />assessment. <br /> <br />After discussion, S. Olmen moved that the Counei I concur with Engineer <br />Lund's recommendation that no assessment abatement be made; seconded <br />by R. Herrick. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Water Improvement No, 68-2 - Assessment <br />Marchand <br />Engineer <br />owned by <br />Marchand <br /> <br />Lund indicated the location <br />John Marchand, one of which <br />describes as an unbui Idable <br /> <br />of two adjacent parcels <br />is a 30 ft. strip whlc~ <br />lot which should not be <br /> <br />Adjustment Request.
