Crepeau, Jr., Councilmen S. Olmen, J. Hollenhorst, <br />E. G. Henderson, R. Herrick. <br />Absent - None. <br />Also Present - Clerk AdminIstrator L. Strom~ulst, Attorney V. Courtney, <br />Treasurer W. Read, Engineer O. Lund, Maintenance Supervisor <br />E. Beecher and Assistant Clerk O. Zehm. <br /> <br />Approval of MInutes <br />The Minutes of the Regular Cpuncil Meeting of February 22, 1971 <br />were approved as amended. <br /> <br />Statewide Ambulance Service <br />Mr. Frank Stanton, Minnesota Department of Health, described the <br />ambulance service presently In operation In the State of Minnesota; <br />explained the training requirements of ambulance drivers and atten- <br />dants and described the minimal equipment that each ambulance must <br />carry. Mr. Stanton explained that funds have not been allocated <br />to date for the inspection and regulation of the state ambulances, <br />but this funding Is expected In thIs legislative session. <br /> <br />Mr. Sylvan Bauer, Unity Ambulance Service, described the service <br />provided by Unity Ambulance Service: <br /> <br />I. Four ambulances are available, and on cai I, at all <br />times (two at Unity Hospital and two at Mercy Hospital). <br /> <br />2. All ambulances are equipped with the Minnesota required <br />equipment plus such additional equipment as O.B.packs, <br />burn packs, oxygen, suction etc. and a heart lung In one <br />ambulance at each hospital. <br /> <br />3. All men must attend a training course once each year given <br />at St. Paul Ramsey Hospital or Hennepin General HospJtal. <br /> <br />Mr. Bauer exp la I ned that the ambu I ances are on the Arden HIli s <br />Police radio frequency, on call; explaining that If the ambulance <br />is called and then cancelled, no charge Is made. <br /> <br />Charges for ambuiance runs are as follows: <br /> <br />Routine (daytime) <br />After hours <br />Emergency <br /> <br />$35.00 <br />40.00 <br />45.00 <br /> <br />Plus $1.00 per loaded mile. <br /> <br />After questions to both Mr. Stanton and Mr. Bauer, the Council <br />Meeting was recessed for about ten minutes to provide an opportunity <br />to inspect the Unity-Mercy Ambulance in the parking lot. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />Sanitar Sewer No 14 Extension wen Rasm ssen <br />Mr. Owen Rasmussen, 3650 North leveland Avenue, requested extension <br />of the sanitary sewer line to serve his property at 3650 North <br />Cleveland Avenue (Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. 14). He explaIned <br />that he has granted the easement for the sewer line, but requests <br />that the Council guarantee that his Oak trees wIll not be disturbed <br />during construction, or If disturbed, be replaced. <br /> <br />After .revlew of Attorney Lynden's letter of March 2, 1971 by Attorney <br />Courtney, and after a description of the sewer line proposed locatIon <br />in relation to the Oak trees, the Council recommended that Mr. <br />Rasmussen determine the point at which construction of the sewer line <br />should stop, to avoid Injury to his trees, at which point Mr. Rasmussen <br />can angle his house service line. This suggestion was agreeable to <br />Mr. Rasmussen. (Engineer Lund and Mr. Rasmussen to supervise the <br />construction to prevent damage to the trees. No guarantee against <br /> <br />-1- <br />
