COUNCILMA7 HAi.VSONa Did we get a record of whether for or
against?
NIR. t4ILLER: I made no statement as to whether for or
• against, I had two questions - one to P-Ir. Popovich and one to
I1ra Christoffersen. I am a spectator rather than a combatant.
R. Va00DBURN: You must be 300 or 400 feet deep.
MR, MILLER: I was thinking of the latexal dimension.
DR. N700DBURN: I think most of us are in the Jordan basin.
•
MR. MILLER: Maybe I'm in the Anoka vein at 150 feet, and
there again, if that was a mis-statent on my part (inaudible)
my question to Mr. Popovich {inaudible) do you have any informa-
tion on the Anoka vein?
D4R. CHRISTOFFERSENe Arden Hills gets all their water from
Roseville.
N1R. HUSNIK: Our well is 575 feet and I think it's the
Tiinckley strata. It's soft water.
PIAYOR CREPEAU: Anyone else care to make a statent or
ask a question?
MR. ELPIER CP9IEL, 4549 Lakeshores Except for one person
on Lakeshore, I'm speaking for the first 1300 feet of residents
and one non-commital, N7e don°t want the water and I think you
couZd go right down that red line and find a majority there
that have already voiced their opinion and I'd like to ask the
engineer - how often do you have problems with dead-end mains?
wliat°s your past history?
P4R, CHRISTOFFERSEiV: Usually I don't have the problem -
it's tkte maintenance people that do and I'm not informed on
all problems that come up in all communities. I do know the..
flow is proportioned to the aquare of the lots so you have to
consider that if you have water feeding from two directions
you get four times if you were feeding from one direction.
MR. CP7IEL: The reason we're here is because the property
on the west side, which Has stated in the New Brighton Bulletin
and I think if they want it they can have a dead-end main. The
people on the other side don't want it and the trailer court
doesn't want it and the first 1300 feet (inaudible) Lakeshore
and further down Old Highway 10 don't want it.
MR. CHRISTOFFRSEN: The important factor
completes a loop going this way and clear down
A dead-end main could be constructed to deliver
point but it isn't a very good design system.
is that this
to Hamline,
water to this
14
