He notcd putting in two additional driveways <br /> would not take out any substantial vcgctation. <br /> Chair Sand notcd for safety purposes. it might bc safer to eliminatc the cxisting driveway <br /> and put in the two new driveways. Ms. Rodziej statcd in that typc of a situation, they <br /> would have to go past their garage and would need to tum around to get into their garage. <br /> Shc noted they also had recreational vchieles where it would be difticult to gct into the <br /> driveway if the existing driveway was eliminated. <br /> Commissioner Zimmerman askcd if they had talked about a tumaround. Ms. Rodziej <br /> stated tonight's meeting was the first time they had hcard about a tumaround. <br /> Chair Sand asked if this were to be approved, who would approve the geometry of the <br /> driveway to ensure it was anglcd properly onto Lexington. Mr. Hellegers replicd the City <br /> Engineer and/or the Ramsey County Enginccrs would nccd to work out thc geometry of <br />. thc drivcways. <br /> Commissioncr Bezdicek stated more driveways on a busy road wcre more dangcrous. <br /> Ms. Rodziej stated they would cnter in thc center driveway and exit out thc othcr <br /> driveway. <br /> Mr. Sabot replied thcy fclt thcy could get into thc traffic on Lcxington Avenue faster with <br /> their proposal. He expresscd concem that the speed on Lexington Avenue would <br /> increase, which will also make thc existing driveway unsafe. <br /> Ms. Sabot noted most of thcir vegetation was removed whcn the sewer system came <br /> through. <br /> Mr. Sabot indicatcd they wanted to prcscrve their large trecs. <br /> Commissioner Thompson statcd the natural tendency would be to takc the tirst driveway. <br /> Shc expressed concem that if these homes werc sold at somc point in the future, the new <br /> owners may not be as coopcrati ve. <br /> Letter from Leonard E.
