. Re: Planning Case #06-035: Variance: 3203 Shorewood Drive
Summary of application
1. Signed copy of land use application (previously submitted)
2. 30 Copies of the revised land survey (attaehed)
3. Description of how the proposed addition will be integrated with the existing
dwelling: The exterior finishes of the front and side elevations of the house will
be replaced to provide a seamless integration. The variance will allow a uniform
wall along the entire west side. Roof peak will be raised slightly to accommodate
the addition in the front ofthe house. This addition will make the garage a less
prominent element of the residence. Planned materials are stone veneer, board
and batten fiber cement siding. and stucco. See architects rendering of general
perspective. Landscaping will be completed to integrate the entire front yard with
the new shape of the house. Details are to be determined. (Attached perspective)
4. Statements from neighboring property owners in support of variance (attached)
5. Digital pictures: (previously submitted)
Additional Information:
. 1. Per the City Planner's request we have reviewed this option, and determined that
while more expensive, the option is feasible. That is why we have revised this
variance request.
2. However, to obtain an integrated appearance for this addition, it makes sense to
extend the west wall of the existing structure out for the addition, even though this
wall is approximately T' inside the 10' side yard setback.
.
