<br /> SECTION 1335 - FLOOD PI,AINS <br />. 1335.01 Statutory Authorization. This Seetion is enacted pursuant to the provisions of M.S. ) 031' <br /> and 4(,2.:>57. which authorize local government units to adopt regulations designed tll minimize <br /> llood losses. <br /> 1335.02 l'indings of Fact. <br /> Suhd. ) Hazards Exist. The Jlood hazard areas of the City arc subject to periodic <br /> inundation which results in potential loss of lite. loss of property. health and safety hazards. <br /> disruption of commerce and governmental services. extraordinary public expenditures or <br /> flood protection and relic!: and impairment of the tax base. all of which adversely affect the <br /> puhlic health, safety. and gl'neral welfare. <br /> Subd.2 Method Used to Analyze I'lood ] )azards. There regulations of this Section are <br /> based upon a reasonahle method of analyzing Jlood hazards which is consistent with the <br /> standards established by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resourees. <br /> 1335.03 Statemt'llt of Purpose. II shall be the purpose of this Section to promote the public health. <br /> safety. and general weltare. <br /> IJ35.0-l Zoning Code. The City of Arden IIilrs Zoning Code is adopted by reference and made a <br /> part of this Section as ifset out in full. <br /> 1335.05 Regulatory Flood Proteetion Elevation. The Regulatory Flood Protection Flevation shall <br /> he an ekvation no lower than one foot above the elevation of the regionalllood plus any increases in <br /> flood elevation caused by encroachments on the Ilood plain that result from designation of a <br /> Iloodway. <br /> 1335.06 Administrator. The City Administrator or other official designated hy the City Council <br />. shall administer and enforce this Section. If the City Administrator tinds a violation of the provisions <br /> of this Section the City Administrator shall notify the person responsible for the violation in <br /> accordance with the procedures. <br /> 1335.07 Lands to Which Regulations Apply. These regulations of this Section shall apply to all <br /> lands within the ('ity as shown on the Official Zoning Map and/or the attachments thereto as being <br /> located within the boundaries of the Floodway. Flood hinge. or Generall-"lood Plain Districts. <br /> 1.1.15.08 Establishment of Official Zoning Map. The Otlicial Zoning Map together with all <br /> materials attached thereto shall be adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this Section as if <br /> set out hcre in hIlI. The attached material shall include the flood Insurance Study for the City <br /> prepared by the Federal Insurance Administration and the Flood Boundary and Floodway Map and <br /> nood Insurance Rate Map.
