The inspection revealed that you have two tree(s) 011 your property that have Dutch Elm Disease. The tree(s) have been clearly marked with a red paint stripe. The City's intention I()f this program is to proactivcly reducc the spread of the discase through the City of Arden Hills. Tree Removal Options for thl' Propertv Owner . Property owncr removes or contracts out the tree removal at his/her own expense. . Propel1y owncr reyuests to have the City's contractor remove the tree at his/her own expense. Please contact City/-lall at 651-634-5120 for more infornlation regarding this option. * Arden Hills residents may request that a laboratory test be completed on one or more trees that have been marked for removal. The property o\vner must request in writing to the City that the tree(s) be . teste~ no later than the date on \~hich ~he tree(s) or diseased wo~d is scheduled to be remov~d from the premise. All laboratory tree testll1g will be completed by the Mmnesota Department of Agneulture or a yualified laboratory. If the testing confillllS the original diagnosis that the tree is infected with a shack tree disease, the property owner will be responsible for all expenses incurred for the analysis completed by the City. If the test discloses that the tree or wood was not diseased, the City shall bear the entire laboratory testing costs and the tree(s) will be rcmoved tfom the diseased tree listing. All marked diseased trees must he removed by the property owner within ten days after receiving a certified letter from the City that the tree(s) must be removed. All properties will be re-inspected after the property owner has been notified by the City. If the tree(s) is not removed within 30 days the notice date. the City of Arden H ills will initiate the removal and disposal of al1 standing, marked, discased trees and the total costs will he billed or assessed to the property owner.
