City Administrator \{\}J SU B.JECT: Appointment ofMMKR as City Auditor BAeKGROlJND The City or Arden Hills has retained the linn of Abdo, Eick and Meyers as City Auditor for many ycars (approximately ten years). The City also contracts with othcr firms for a variety of professional services such as engineering and legal services. Thc City Council and stafThave discussed the need to periodically conduct a request-for-proposals (RFP) process for professional services. as a due diligence procedure. This helps the staff and elected officials feel comfortable that we arc recl:iving good services for good value. In 2006 (for the Yl:ar ending December 31, . 201l5) we spent just under S3 I .000 for auditing scrvices. Last summer the City issued an RFP for professional auditing services. We rcceived livc proposals. Staff evaluated thc proposals and selected thrce firms as finalists. Those three finns were invited to give presentations to a selection committee. The selection committcc consisted ofl\Iayor Aplikowski, Administrator Wolfe, Accounting Analyst Michelle Bruley, and Roseville Assistant Financl: Director Brenda Davitt. The selection committee concluded that since all thrce finns are vcry qualified and all would be able to provide excellent servicc to the City, we would recommend the lowest-cost proposal. .
