The inspeetion revealed that you have one trec(s) on your property that have Dutch Elm Disease. The tree(s) have been clearly marked with a red paint stripe. The City's intention for this J1I"0f,'Tam is to proactivcly reduce thc spread of the disease through the City of Arden Hills. Tree Removal Options for the Property Owner . Property O\\'ncr removes or eontracts out the tree removal at his/her own expense. . Property owncr requests to have the City's contractor remove the tree at his/her own expense. Please contact City HaJJ at 651-634-5120 for more information regarding this option. * Arden l-Iills residents may request that a laboratory test be completed on one or more trees that have heen marked for removal. The property owncr must request in writing to the City that the trec(s) be . teste~ no later than the date on \~hich ~he tree(s) or diseased wo~d is scheduled to be rcmov~d from the prenllSe. All laboratory tree testmg wlil be completed by the Mmncsota Depmtment of Agnculture or a qualified laboratory. lEthe testing continns the original diagnosis that the tree is infected with a shade tree disease, the property O\\'ner will he rcsponsible for all expenses incUlTed [or the analysis completed by the City_ lfthe test discloses that the tree or wood was not diseased, the City shall bear the entire laboratory testing costs and the tree(s) will be removed from the diseased tree listing. All marked diseased trees must be removed by the property owner within tcn days after receiving a ccrtified lettcr [rom the City that the tree(s) must be rcmoved. All properties will be re-inspected after the property owner has been notified by the City. If the tree(s) is not removed within 30 days the notice datc, the City o[ Arden Hills will initiate the removal and disposal of all standing, marked, diseased trees and the total costs will be billed or assesscd to the property owner.
