The inspection revealed that you have one trec(s) on your property that have Dutch Elm Disease. The trce(s) havc heen clcarly marked with a red paint stripe. The City's intention f()r this program is to proactivcly reduce the spread of the disease through the City of Arden Hills. Tree Removal Options for the Property Owner . Property OWllcr removes or contracts out the tree removal at his/her own expense. . Property owner requests to have the City's contractor remove the tree at his/her own expense. Please contact City Hall at 651-634-5120 for more infonnation regarding this option. * Arden Hills residents may request that a lahoratory test be completed 011 one or more trecs that have been marked for removal. The property owner must request in writing to the City that the trce(s) be . tcste~ no later than the datc on \~hich ~he tree(s) or diseased wo~d is scheduled to bc remov~d from thc prennse. All laboratory tree testmg Will he completed hy the Mmnesota Departmcnt of Agnculture or a quali fied lahoratory. ] I' the testing confinns the original diagnosis that the tree is infected with a shade trec disease, the property owner will be responsible for all expenses incurred tor the analysis completed hy the City. If the test discloses that the tree or wood was not diseased, the City shall hear the cntire laboratory testing costs and the tree(s) will be removed from the diseased tree listing. All marked diseased trees must be removed by the property owncr within tcn days after receiving a certified letter from the City that the tree(s) must he removed. All properties wi]] be re-inspected aftcr the property owner has been notified by the City. If the tree(s) is not removed within 30 days the notice date, the City orArden Hills will initiate the removal and disposal of all standing, marked, diseased trees and the total costs will be hilled or assessed to the propcrty owner.
