<br />~ <br />~HILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />April 16, 2007 <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM 2B <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Michelle Wolfe, City Administrator <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Highway 10 and 96: Recap and Next Steps <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City Council has held two work sessions regarding transportation issues, starting general and <br />then focusing on the Highway 10 and Highway 96 intersection. At the first work session the <br />Council generated some ideas for the 10/96 area. From these ideas, five options were prepared <br />by consultant SEH. In preparation for a public meeting/open house on April 2, Council reached <br />some consensus regarding the options. While not unanimous, three options were considered <br />"nonviable." At the open house, residents were asked to comment on the two remaining options, <br />but were also welcome to comment on the other three options as well. <br /> <br />Resident input to-date has been sununarized and forwarded to you (another copy is attached for <br />easy reference.) In addition, some or all of you may have received other comments via phone <br />calls or e-mails. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION OUTLINE <br /> <br />The goals for tonight's work session discussion are as follows: <br /> <br />1. Recap of activities to date and Council feedback from the April 2 Public Meeting <br />a. Reaction to resident comment sheets input to-date <br />2. Update regarding the financing strategy for the project <br />3. Discussion of next steps: <br />a. Process for determining a preferred option for Highway 10 and 96 <br />i. What does the Council desire in terms of additional information, <br />documentation, input (process) <br />n. Decide whether to authorize preparation of a fmal report <br />111. Discuss and provide direction regarding funding of engineering services <br />for this project <br />b. Discuss the need for a formal decision regarding access to TCAAP off Highway <br />10 <br />
