The Ramsey County Sheriff has now completed this transition. In December, <br />2006, the Sheriffs Department sent out cost information to each contract city. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Sheriff s department formulated a cost allocation to each contract city (see attached <br />schedule). 70 radio units were purchased for contract city use that were allocated a <br />reimbursement of$I,995 perradio from federal grant funds received and county bonds. (Costs <br />ofthe various types ofradio units varied by model, see attached schedule). <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br /> <br />Based on the attached allocation schedule, Arden Hills portion is 15% of the total contract city <br />cost for the 70 radio units. This results in a cost of$8,839.52 for the radios and $680.40 in <br />annual maintenance fees. <br /> <br />CITY STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Motion to Approve payment to Ramsey County in the amount of$8,839.52 from the capital <br />equipment budget for the City's share of the 800 MHz radio system. <br />
